Blossom

He looked small against their intimidating eyes. His great height didn't show, he seemed to be shrinking with each passing minute. Even though he was shivering with fear, he didn't wither. Even though his eyes were darting left and right, he didn't lower his head.

Yet it was evident that he stood no chance against them.

Our eyes met for a split second. His pleading eyes. His whimpering lips. His flustered cheeks. They awakened the resentment within me, the determination to save him from this injustice. I wanted to reach out, my hands desperate to help him.

I stood up, silencing all of the doubts & fears inside of me. I stood up, all eyes shooting towards me. I stood up, in the middle of the classroom, in the midst of the chaos.

Followed by curious stares, I had done what no one has ever dared to do.

I held my hand out to him, ending all of his sufferings. Years of continuous harassment. Days of never ending violence.

With just a few words exchanged, everything began to blossom.

You
